To facilitate its membership drive, STAN intends to build a presence for science in every primary, secondary and tertiary institution throughout the federation. This is the largest networking initiative of the science Teachers Association of Nigeria and the programme is designed to improve the teaching and learning of science education by identifying with one science teacher in every school to serve as pivot for the project.
The aims and objectives of the program are to:
- Identify at least a point of contact for standards- based science teaching and learning in every school.
- To create an infrastructure of national and state partners who are advocates for effective science teaching and learning.
- To foster relationships among all members at both national and state levels.
Building a presence for science networks is expected to be established and implemented in all states. The national secretariat, key leaders in each state and a point of contact for STAN in every school will form the network.
